Cape Town – We’ve always wanted to have a quickie with legendary Afrikaans singer and songwriter Valiant Swart, and our dream has finally come true!
With 14 albums and more than 3000 gigs under his belt, Valiant is hailed as one of the best songwriters of the last 20 twenty years. A versatile talent, Valiant has also played TV host and is a columnist for various magazines.
We had the opportunity to ask Valiant a few questions ahead of his Heritage Day show tomorrow, 24 September, at the Camphill Village Music Festival.
What’s a quickie? It’s a brief or spontaneous episode consisting of five frisky questions in which celebs and Channel24 have a brief frolic leaving all parties involved feeling satisfied and craving a cigarette.

You’ll be playing at Camphill Music Festival on Heritage day, what can people expect from the show and why should people come out to support the event?
Valiant:
I’ll be playing a solo acoustic set for about an hour. Some blues, some ballads and some humour will be on the menu, as always. Camphill is a beautiful community in a lovely, tranquil setting, well worth the support.

You are constantly on the road and have toured a lot in the past, and we know the saying 'what happens on tour, stays on tour'… but, please can you share one of your funniest or weirdest tour stories with us?
Valiant:
Well, there was the time I pee’d on a camel’s knee while tripping on acid in the bushveld. True story. Won’t recommend it.
